This policy covers all candidates regardless of whether the candidate is seeking temporary or permanent opportunities. Data derived from Third Party Sources As is common in the recruitment space, data that is provided by candidates is shared among agencies. If Cigna is processing data Cigna has discovered from a third party database then Cigna is processing your data on the assumption that when you uploaded your CV onto the third party’s website you did so on the understanding that recruitment agencies will be able to access and download your personal data. We will also from time to time, place advertisements on third party recruitment sites and by responding with your CV it is understood that you wish us to review your details and experience against the position advertised. Lawful Basis for processing Data Cigna processes persona data with the justification being that the processing is in Cigna’s legitimate interest. The processing of personal data that Cigna does is purely to meet the obligations it owes candidates who directly and indirectly disclose to Cigna their personal data with a view to using Cigna’s services. Cigna will not process data beyond those parameters and will always respect the rights of data subjects to control the processing by Cigna of their data. The information/data Cigna collect and how Cigna use it: The purpose of Cigna’s processing of data is to introduce you to prospective employers. Cigna will match your details with job vacancies. In order to identify a position that is most suitable for you, Cigna will send your personal information (including sensitive personal information) to its clients You may be offered a temporary role or a permanent role. You would have either passed to Cigna your personal data directly or you would have disclosed your personal data to a third party who has forwarded it to us. Regardless of how the data has arrived the purpose of the data processing is the same. If required to do so Cigna may also release personal information to regulatory or law enforcement agencies. Cigna will also disclose your information where Cigna is permitted and requested to do so by law. Cigna may also seek your consent to collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information for any other purpose not listed above. Cigna will not send your CV or personal details to a client or any other third party without your written permission to do so. Cigna will not share your personal or sensitive details with any party other than to make an agreed representation to a client. If you are a Cigna contractor remunerated by Cigna, Cigna will disclose your personal data to its accountants or other third party service providers. Once any particular temporary engagement is finished Cigna will delete your banking details Data Retention Cigna operates across a limited number of niche markets and therefore only handles roles applicable to a limited range of candidates. It is not often that Cigna can immediately introduce candidates to opportunities. Cigna therefore retain candidate’s personal details for up to 8 years. This enables Cigna to make contact with you if relevant opportunities arise. It is your decision as to whether you update the details that Cigna has. Candidates have the right to ask that their personal data be erased from Cigna’s records. Other than that Cigna will retain your personal information for a period of 8 years from the initial date of your interaction with us. |
